We are all excited at CSI by the release of PTC Creo and know that CoCreate users are set to benefit greatly from unification drawn from the current suite of PTC products.

CoCreate users are ahead of the game! Look at the screen shots, the media, micro site - in fact every press release shows that the new Creo UI and functionality is predominantly drawn from the powerful direct modeling capabilities of CoCreate.

On October 28, 2010, PTC® launched CreoTM a new family of design software, built to solve chronic problems that have long plagued companies that use CAD software. When you view the launch, read the press releases, look at the screen shots, you will notice that CoCreate users are already ahead of the game based on technology they have been using for years!

The Creo release offers unification of all of the PTC market-leading products, Pro/Engineer®, CoCreate® and Product View® providing all its customers a roadmap that will deliver the best of both worlds in Parametric Feature based and Direct (Dynamic) Modeling.

What does this mean to me as a PTC CoCreate® User?

From October 28th your products and associated modules, extensions and packages have been renamed to reflect the new Creo™ brand.

  • CoCreate® becomes Creo Elements/Direct™
  • Pro/ENGINEER® becomes Creo Parametric™
  • ProductView® becomes Creo Elements/View™

Your support quotes and correspondence will be branded with the new terminology.

When will the first release of Creo be available?

Creo 1.0 is expected mid-year 2011. Timing and product release is subject to change at PTCs discretion.

Will Creo be compatible with PTC CoCreate?

All data created in these applications will be fully upwards compatible with the Creo family of products.

We will continue to send updates as soon as new information on the development roadmap and product release's are available. In the meantime you can relax and continue to enjoy using Creo Elements/Direct™ safe in the knowledge that your initial investment in CoCreate was an investment for the future and the next generation of 3D CAD.
